Baker / Chef
Job Description:
We are looking for an eager and reliable candidate with all round kitchen experience to join our team in the Café at Ashbrook.
Serving breakfasts, lunches, cakes, bakes and a range of hot and cold drinks, the Café at Ashbrook takes pride in offering friendly service and producing consistent high-quality food, using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients wherever possible.
The successful candidate will have all-round kitchen experience and work well as part of a team in a fast-paced hospitality role and be able to efficiently manage order ‘tickets’. It is important to consistently produce quality food, while also having the freedom to exercise creativity to produce special cakes, bakes, and mains to supplement our usual menu. Main duties will include baking, daily meal preparation, cooking and plating of food, stock control, and assistance with menu planning. You must also be able to use initiative and work unsupervised. High standards of hygiene must also be kept.
This role will be a minimum of 28 hours per week, with a degree of flexibility required for changing shift patterns and holiday cover. A typical week will entail 2 days on bakery duty and a further 3 days on chef duty.
Experience working in hospitality is desirable. Job specific training will be given.
