Flowers and plants that are destined to flourish, grown at Ashbrook and locally sourced.

We grow all our own bedding and patio plants and have a good range available throughout the seasons. We do not treat our plants with hormonal growth regulators which many of the larger growers do ( this keeps plants compact giving them a longer shelf life), so when you plant Ashbrook plants in your garden they just 'take off'.

We are particularly proud of the range of herbaceous perennials we grow at Ashbrook. Each year we like to try something new as well as the old favourites. Our beautiful plants have been used to great effect in award winning gardens at the Dundee Flower Show and Gardening Scotland.

Alpines provide a range of foliage colour and texture over winter followed by great floral displays in spring. They are hardy plants for rockeries, raised beds, borders or planters.

We have a selection of bare-root hedging currently available this is an economical way to plant a hedge or woodland area.  We also stock some larger specimen laurels or conifers for those looking for an 'instant' evergreen hegde.

We have a selection of conifers arranged on the nursery benches to help you chose the right variety for your situation. 10 year height less than 4ft, more than 4ft or suitable for ground cover. Conifers are excellent for colour in the garden through the winter, several varieties changing colour when the cold weather comes adopting autumnal shades or intensifying the golden tints.  Dwarf varieties re excellent for winter planters - taller growing varieties can also be used for this - but don't expect them to stay small for ever!

We have a range of fruit trees which provide beautiful blossoms in Spring, and fruit in late Summer/Autumn.

We also stock all sorts of fruit bushes from gooseberries, too blackcurrants, as well as strawberry plants and more.

We have a wide selection of herbs, and pre planted containers for your own miniature 'kitchen garden'.

Our selection of grasses and ferns come in a range of sizes and can be perfect for use in planters, baskets, border fillers, or they can look great planted around your patio.  They can provide loveley movement in the breeze.

At the moment we have a modest selection of houseplants, cacti, succulents and those amazing ‘airplants’ in our wee greenhouse.  This is part of our stock we are trying to expand as they become ever more popular.

In the summer and Autumn, we have cut flowers avilable.  Our very first bunches of flowers were a mix of Astrantia, white Achillea and Sweet William – borne out of a wish to liven up a rather monochromatic crop of Sweet William. Since then we have tried all sorts of annuals, biennials, perennials and bulbs so our ‘posies’ are ever changing from year to year and throughout the seasons. ‘Garden Pinks’ with their wonderful fragrance form the basis of many of our bunches along with Asters, Sunflowers in the summer moving onto the autumnal scent of Chrysanthemums. For the ‘fillers’ we use all sorts! Dill, Ammi, Daucus, Statice, Bupleurum, Sweet William, Michaelmas Daisies, Solidago, Feverfew, Veronica, Campanula… the list goes on and on!

We can provide flower arrangements for functions, weddings, churches etc.
